Czech ‘preppers’ gear up for doomsday
With long and uncertain response times, preppers will do well to have programmed into their cell phones the numbers of relatives and friends who can come to help them. Preppers and their families also should know how to send text messages . If regular cell phone service is not working, text messages often can get through. If not, the text messages will automatically keep trying to get through until they succeed. In their wallets, preppers also should have a hard copy of all of these emergency numbers.

“We’ve got sleeping bags, tents things like that,” he also pointed out. In the corner is a generator for power outages. Preppers: Ready for disaster
“Terrorism, war or an economical collapse are all possible, and no matter which one happens first, you need to be able to eat, drink and stay alive.” Jiri, 23, from Hradec Kralove, has stacked up cans of food and gallons of water around his house, and he meets online with other preppers to study the best foods to grow in his garden. He has two safety helmets at the ready, wind-up equipment that can be used without electricity or batteries, and plans to buy a car that he can fill with the right equipment and use as a quick getaway in the event of a disaster. Despite the fact his friends and family don’t share his passion for survivalism, Jiri says he will certainly not let it discourage him. “I want to have a gun license so I can keep a weapon, but of course I would only use it if it was absolutely necessary,” he said. “I’m not one of these people who build bunkers, but I will certainly modify my basement in some ways to know that I am ready for anything. Of course, the end of the world does not have to be the end of the world, if people are ready. It is good that more people are becoming preppers. In the future, I would like to get married and have children; I hope I can pass on my knowledge and skills, but in a fun way, like taking them camping and teaching basic skills.” Czech preppers climbed onto the bandwagon a bit late in the game.
